Best Ever Action/Adventure Game 2009
And The Winner Is...
by Gamervision

This year might have been the best year for the action/adventure genre in a while. There were a huge amount of fun, creative open-world games, with some of the better ones being Red Faction: Guerrilla, which pushed the destruction envelope further than anything else, and Assassin's Creed II, fixing every issue with its predecessor and pushing the series in a great direction. A Boy and His Blob came out for the Wii, proving that there's some life still in the 2D adventure genre. Not only that, but Batman: Arkham Asylum was also released this year, and I really don't think we need to go on anymore about how good this game was. As the saying goes, though, there can be only one, and we needed to pick a single game for the 2009 Best Ever Action/Adventure game.
You know the drill, we've been over this. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was really good. From a gameplay standpoint, which is something that is too often forgotten under the cinematic bliss, Uncharted was flawless. The few flaws from the original, and they were, indeed, few, were completely fixed. In fact, there's a reason the gameplay is forgotten because of the cinematic presentation, and that's because they're one and the same. Never before has a game felt so movie-like because of the gameplay, and that's the greatest achievement.

No shocker here, except maybe the nomination of A Boy and His Blob.
Don't hate on A Boy and His Blob! And yeah, Uncharted 2 was the obvious choice for this, that game can do no wrong.
