Jenga for Wii Screenshots
Atari to Bring Party Classic to Nintendo's Shindig
by Gamervision
We've all been to that type of party. You know, the one where the host invited friends, family and co-workers in a mix such that no one who comes to the party actually knows anyone else. You end up in a room with six or seven different enclaves of two to three people talking to people they knew when they got there. There are only two things that help alleviate those situations: liquor and Jenga.
Oh, how we would love a Jenga game the stack looked like this...
We all know the game: set up a tower made of rectangular blocks, and then take a block out of the tower and place it on the top. If you knock the tower down, you lose. And really, Jenga is the 5th Element of board games. That is: its the game no one ever claims is one of their favorites, but somehow ends up on every game shelf or closet in America. And although the game is a lot of fun, it suffers from being kind of one-dimensional, and a real pain-in-the-ass to set up.
Well, Atari has taken care of at least some of that problem for us. Jenga will be coming to the Nintendo Wii and the DS in November. Although its not as exciting as Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid (neither of which, sadly, are as exciting as Bioshock, Metal Gear 4, or even Eccochrome) we still think that Atari is making a video version of what Jenga always was: a fun party game.
Anyway, some new screen shots were released today. The gameplay elements look fun, but I wonder about the character select screen. Take a look:
I've been to a lot of parties, but I've never played Jenga with a pterodactyl.
Oh hey, looks like its player two's turn!
Is this Jenga or DDR?
Thanks to GamesPress for the pics!

This looks pretty cool & shows off the innovative nature of the Wii. Me, I'm TOTALLY picking the Penguin w/goggles (in honor of my secret Linux fetish). :)
