Manhunt Banned in UK and Rated AO in USA

Who saw THIS coming…

by Gamervision

The world was amazed when Rockstar revealed Manhunt 2 would be coming to the Nintendo Wii. Now, it seems, it may never see the light of day. GamePolitics.com has reported that the UK game rating board has banned sales of Manhunt 2 from its country. Soon after, the ESRB slapped the game with an Adult Only rating. Giving a game an AO rating is not like giving a movie an R rating, it is essentially giving it an X. Most retailers will not sell Manhunt and the game will be hard as hell to get a hold of. There has been no word by Rockstar as of yet regarding this issue. They have several important decisions to make. Will they scale it back and attempt to get it rated as M? Will they appeal the ESRB’s decision? Will they release it as AO and see what happens? Will they have some combination of both? Or will they just scrap the game entirely. Either way, publicity is publicity and we at Gamervision will get a hold of this game no matter what hoops we must jump through to get it.

I remember getting the sauce scared out of me when I played the first Manhunt. I would certainly play the second one, albeit in the light of day, with several people around, with happy music playing in the background.

Personally, I'm hoping for a Piggsy spinoff.
