Gamers looking forward to Super Smash Brothers Brawl got more information from the Smash Bros. Blog this morning. The newest addition to be announced are being called Assist Trophies. Assist trophy, I guess I choose you! So far three outcomes of the item have been announced – although each with different outcomes. The full blog posting and pictures are below. Will these items become the new Pokeballs, with players struggling to smash each other away for a chance to use them? Only time will tell. From the blog: “What’s an Assist Trophy?! Well, these are characters who appear to aid the fighter that called them forth. Basically, they’re guest characters separate from Smash’s playable roster! Super Smash Bros. Brawl is sort of like a festival that all sorts of characters show up for. Bear in mind, though, that you can’t control any of the characters appearing on these pages.
