Ubisoft Announces Beowulf Game

Ghost Recon Team to Produce Game Based on Upcoming Film

by Gamervision

The same team that brought the wildly successful Ghost Recon to the Xbox 360 is ready to get medieval on our asses. Ubisoft has announced a partnership with Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis to create a game based on the upcoming film Beowulf. For those of you who didn't sleep through high school English, Beowulf was originally an old English epic poem.

Alain Tascan, Ubisoft's European head, claimed that the game would, "reinvent the hack and slash genre." The film, starring Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie and Crispin Glover, is due out in November. The film's major stars are expected to lend their voices to the project.

I think Angelina is ready for her close-up. Source

Maybe it's going to be a slash and hack instead of hack and slash.
