Preview - New Paradigm Subs
Big Badda Boom
Paradigm, Canadian maker of a wide range of speakers and subs, has announced three new inexpensive subwoofers. Here's a breakdown of each new offering.
The PDR-80 ($279) has an 8-inch reinforced polymer-composite cone and 100 watts of power. Paradigm claims the sub can go down to 32 Hz and that the amp can supply 300 watts in peaks. This means the internal amp can produce bursts of up to 300 watts when the signal demands it.
The PDR-100 ($399) has a 10-inch driver of the same material as the PDR-80, and 120 watts of power. Paradigm claims the PDR-100 goes down to 29 Hz and the amp can produce 360 watts in peaks.
The third new sub is the PDR-W100 ($499, pictured below), which has the same overall specs as the PDR-100 but is wireless. Paradigm's wireless transmitter is included.
Paradigm subs (and speakers, for what it's worth) tend to be pretty good, and these are great specs for the price.
All will be available in late October.
