EA Spring Preview: The Sims 3 Interview
We Talk With One of the Producers of The Sims 3
Fans of the Sims series should be happy to hear that production of The Sims 3 is moving along well, fixing many of the issues from former games in the series. Everyone remembers the absurd loading between areas, right? Thankfully, the shackles of load times have been cut, and the entire neighborhood can be explored. Seamlessly walking from one place to another is just one of the many new features coming to the Sims 3 when it releases later this year, and it looks to be the most in-depth iteration of the franchise yet. For fans, it hopes to expand on the formula by adding new places to go and giving the player even more customization options, and for new initiates The Sims 3 has removed some of the annoying parts of preview games in favor of a more graceful experience.
We’ll have more information on The Sims 3 soon, but in the meantime check out the interview above, where Grant Rodiek, producer on The Sims 3, explains everything fans of the Sims series have to look forward to, including less peeing, moodlets and ghost babies.

I really cannot wait for this game - I love the Sims, and leaving the house really sealed the deal for me.
Never really been a Sims guy, but that was mostly not having enough time to play. Nowadays I think this will be a nice way to chill out from more serious gaming.
I think this will be the first game I buy for my Macbook Pro. Holy shit, I am suddenly excited for this.
Full clothing/house customization? YES.
I'm really glad that they are addressing that the last two games had a few needlessly difficult aspects as well as a fair amount of tedium. Hopefully they build upon that knowledge and make Sims that can keep my attention for more than an afternoon.
Oh yeah, and ghost babies? Awesome.
The personality traits sound like an awesome innovation on the series. And the lack of load times will be a more than welcome change.
I love the Ghost Babies. their first album was excellent, but they've slipped in the last few years.
