GDC: Day Two
Hello From Beautiful Rainy San Francisco!

Welcome to the second day of Game Developers Conference 2008. Things are starting to pick up, with less than 24 hours to go until the floor opens. In the meantime, we are still trying to keep ourselves occupied, but it's getting easier.
When you first enter the Moscone Center North building, there is a large XNA presence. One of the main spectacles is a mysterious white sheet covering a XNA set up with the words "Coming Soon". What lies beneath? We will have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out. A friend close to the source said that whatever it is, it will definitely be "cool". Nice.

In between seminars, I stopped by the GDC Bookstore to see what everyone was reading, wearing and drinking out of.

At 10:45, I attended a seminar by Microsoft called "Getting More From Multicore". It was interesting, but a little over my head. As awesome as the difference is between Sequential and Parallel Tasks, I just want to care if the game is fun, and if your character will make ripples when they walk in water. That's what next-gen is all about.

What's behind the curtain? I must know! Is it gold? Is it a pretty princess? Or is it despair and loathing. Or maybe some sort of XNA thing. I've lost interest.
C'mon! You didn't peak behind the curtain!?
GDC flask - nice.
I spent most of yesterday in the microsoft XNA day. They definitely showed off some great tech for indie programs to latch onto. Logging onto live was as easy as adding one line of code, it was shockingly easy! I can't wait to play around with XNA. I spent today at the Indie Game Summit, which i've found to be very inspiring, my coworkers and I are already trying to cook up some new independent projects.
Good luck digging up stories (if thats what you're there for).
