It appears that Bungie has opened it's doors to "journalists from around the world" to get an exclusive first look at the single-player campaign for
Halo 3. However, it seems the journalist from our neck of the woods is from Microsoft.
Appearing on
Sympatico, which is apart of the Microsoft Network, the nameless author gives his early opinions on two
Halo 3 levels. Long story short, he loves it!
I'm not trying to sound skeptical, but this does seem a little odd. Couldn't they have previewed it to any of the thousands of eagerly waiting video game journalists, instead of someone who writes for Microsoft? Could this be a sign that
Halo 3 might have a few of the problems gamers complained about during the beta?
Maybe this is Bungie's way of easing us into the realistic conclusion that as big as
Halo 3 might and will be, it won't be the greatest game ever made, as many are banking on. With huge hype comes even bigger expectations. Bungie took a lot of flak for the state of
Halo 3 during the beta, most being the graphics and somewhat recycled level designs. In the article, the writer states, "The game looks very good, but not jaw-droppingly great." Ugh oh.
Like Halo 2, but "Next-Gen".
