Made Of Myth

This photo feature from French magazine Amusement re-imagines the world of video games. What if there was a factory somewhere cutting out thousands of Tetris blocks? Or a factory á la Paper St. hammering out gold rings for Sonic? Well, now we know.

Nature is Crazy

Cracked.com has just released this awesome list of 7 Unexplained Acts Of Nature. Included on the list is Star Snot, Spontaneous Combustion, and Earthquake lights.

Some of these (like Spontaneous Combustion) really freak me the fuck out. Others, like Red Sprites, I’m desperate to see in person. Star Snot, however, I could do without.

Pi is now stupid long

Researchers at the University of Tsukuba, Japan have used a massive parallel computer called the T2K Tsukuba System to determine that there are 2.5 trillion decimal places in Pi.

Why? Because they can.

This new number breaks the previously established record of pi digits by almost double.

P.S. - if you were wondering, the actual number of decimal places is now: 2,576,980,377,524

Real Life Candyland

Happy 60th birthday, Candyland! As a child, you were my favorite game to cheat at (true story). In order to celebrate your glorious 60 years of making little kids crave candy even more, San Francisco will be turning their iconic Lombard St. into a real life version of yourself.

The best part is that kids from University of California, San Francisco Children’s Hospital will be able to actually participate in the game as colored game pieces and interact with life-sized game characters, according to organizers.

Now I just need a plane ticket to San Francisco.

All this awesomeness goes down tomorrow, Wednesday August 19th, at Lombard Street in San Fran.
