Portable Tap Seems Like More Work Than It’s Worth

Guest post by Zane!

My first reaction to this camel-pack beer tap was “HOLY SHIT AWESOME.” But after some careful thought, I realized that this idea is only cool on OTHER people. I sure as hell don’t want to spend the entirety of a party pumping out everyone else’s drinks. But if someone would like to come to my party wearing these, I would probably follow you around with a look of adoration plastered on my face.

Also, you could totally fill this up with root beer and be the coolest kid in school.

The Portable Tap Dispenser is available over at funideas.com for only $34.88

DIY Flying Machines Made of Awesome

Guest post by Zane!

So over in China, in two separate provinces, two men have set out to reconnect with their inner Da Vinci.

First, from the province of Henan, Wu Zhongyuan set out to make a helicopter using wood from an elm tree, a 150 cc motorcycle engine, steel pipes, and only a middle school knowledge of physics.  The coolest part is that he totally did it.

Meanwhile, in Guangdong, 12-year old Xie Yanshou set about making a flying car, winning himself first prize in the Guangdong Youth Scientific Innovation Contest.

Folding Fixed Gear Cargo Bike

Guest post by Zane!

If the phrase “folding fixed gear cargo bike” doesn’t instantly make your pants tighter, you’re obviously not a bike nerd.

This bike gets three thumbs up for not only being fucking badass, but also environmentally minded as it works as a shopping cart and a shopping bag. What’s the third thumb for? Dude built it himself.

More pictures over at fixedgeargallery, including some of the process if you’re feeling nerdy.

Rice Will Fix Your Gadget

Guest post by Zane!

Gizmodo is reporting a gadet secret that I’ve been privy to for a few months now – rice will fix your wet electronics.

If you’re prone to dropping your gadgets in water (my phone fell in a toilet once – true story), fear not! Give said gadget a few days rest in some rice and see what happens.  The rice sucks the moisture out, leaving your gadget happy and well-rested.

It’s like gadget voodoo!
