Microsoft is the first to admit when something has gone wrong. They did the right thing offering red-ringed 360 owners replacement consoles, and it looks like they are going to suck it up on the
Halo 3 release.
Due to a design flaw, the disc in the
Halo 3: Limited Edition Tin barely stays attached when it's on your shelf, let alone being deliver across the country. The mount that holds the disc in place is just a small piece of foam that the disc can easily slide off of. I know when I picked up my copy, both the game disc and bonus disc where sliding around hitting everything they could inside the tin. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one.
"We have identified that there are some instances of blemishes on discs as a result of the packaging," said Microsoft spokesman David Dennis
to the Associated Press. "This is a small fraction of the total number of Halo 3 games shipped and sold, and is a limited production version of the game."
The exchange should take about two weeks, and Microsoft is waiving the $20 fee to replace scratched software. What's another two weeks? It will make saving the Universe that much more satisfying. Now go live under a rock till you get it back.

Goodness gracious. Wouldn't it be be better if the cd holder nub was the traditional plastic nub? and judging by the picture, they spent more money on a big cd case than actually considering the products protection, the primary objective of a cd case. For shame Microsoft, for shame.
They pass the savings on to you!
will this mean that these special edition CDs be worth more when scratched in an un-opened case? something like a collectors item! it could go in the "Believe" museum of weaponry.
