E3 10: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Dated, Trailered

Remember, Remember, the 16th of November

by Jonathan H. Cooper

Ubisoft has released a trailer for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the sequel to Assassin's Creed 2 that's apparently not enough of a sequel to deserve a number at the end. For those who don't know, the plot follows the events of the second game, with Ezio attempting to take down the Pope's son. In the trailer, it certainly looks like he's well on his way to that goal. It also looks like they're putting a big emphasis on multiplayer, though it's unknown at this point if there will be cooperative play to go along with the deathmatch that was already teased. From the looks of it, however, it appears we're definitely not going to be taking down world leaders alone. Not anymore.

On top of that, they've also announced that the game will be out on November 16th. If the trailer above is any indication, it looks like we'll be in for one hell of a ride. Usually, here's where I'd talk about the game likely being delayed, but Ubisoft, so far, has done a fine job hitting their marks with this series. Last year I spent every day wondering when they would delay Assassin's Creed 2, and I did the same in 2007 with the original. The delay never came, and both games rocked. Hard.

We're going to be seeing the game on the show floor later this week, so stay tuned for more impressions and news about this exciting pseudo-sequel. Hopefully we'll find out more about the multiplayer, since it seems like it might be enough to push anyone still on the fence right over onto Ezio's anxious blade.
