Tony Hawk: Ride on Sale For... $29.99?

Yeah, It's That Bad

by Jonathan H. Cooper

Website 1 Sale a Day, a site that, as the name suggests, sells one item a day (not unlike the more popular Woot.com) has, on occasion, had nice sales on video game hardware and software. Not three months ago they had the Halo 3: Legendary Edition knocked down to $25, a huge sale on the best-selling game. This, however, marks their largest sale on a recent title: Tony Hawk: Ride, Activision's 2009 dud, has had its price cut from $119.99 to $29.99. While this might be enough for some people to pick it up, I'd hardly recommend it. For as cheap as it might be here, the price doesn't make up for the fact that the game was damn near unplayable.

Though, to be completely honest, I'm shocked it took this long to find the game this cheap. Even DJ Hero, which was actually pretty good, saw some price cuts once the game didn't fly off of store shelves. It's almost as if Activision refuses to admit that the Tony Hawk brand is dead, and is convinced that the market just hasn't found the game yet. That, or they, too, have forgotten about Tony Hawk, something we wish we were able to do. After a few hours of Ride, I'll never forget. Never.

So, in short, don't buy this, even though it's cheap, but feel free to giggle at how cheap it is. That is all. If you feel the need to pick it up as a practical joke, know that they have all three versions of the game, so you can buy it as a gag gift for a friend reguardless of what system they're currently gaming on.

What if you just want board for future super duper awesome titles that will use it...
Right, nevermind don't buy it unless you want to purchase and do something hilarious with the board.
