so you're saying Bayonetta holds up as well as cassette tape ads from the 80s? so does this mean Family Guy will be making a non sequitur reference to it sometime during its 20th season?
PS3 version is a huge disappointment with its frame issues, i could hardly tell what was going on on my 32" HD >.<
honestly I've never been so disappointed with a game before, it better get patched >.<
I've heard and read that the 360 version is a gem though.
Of course I can't give a fair judgement till I actually play more of the the game but so far the frames issue has managed to ruin the experience for me.
It's more along the vein of Viewtiful Joe and P.N.03 (a personal favorite from some of the same staffers) than DMC insomuch that the discursive narrative takes a back seat to the emergent game play rather than the other way around. I was never a fan of the DMC series as it does the opposite. The gunplay histrionics felt rather masturbatory while shackled to the dated RE tank-controls. Bayonetta succeeds by imparting the "damn i gotta do this level just ONE MORE TIME to beat my last score" feeling Viewtiful Joe had. Not at all surprising that it's coming from the remnants Clover Studios.

Side note: Anyone dismissing Bayonetta as "boobs lol", the game is about as sexy as Space Channel 5.

Actually 00.19, that photo is from the 1970s.
And now that I think about it, Bayonetta's pop culture referencing is almost on par with your average episode of Family Guy.
damn that ad is that old? i wish i liked DMC-style games. maybe i'll give this game more of a shot.

There was very little chance I was going to play this game. But then, a viewtiful joe parallel was made...
It's got the pacing of VJ and Rocket Knight Adventures. As I told Dominic recently, the Hang-On sequence made me ejaculate blood and adrenaline.
HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm laughing at the presentation of this article. In a good way...not the insulting kind. Made my day.
