Expect a full quick review today as I'm off from work this week. For now, here are my first impressions:

1) It's easy to pick up and play: If you just want a wrestling game to pick up and play, this is the one. There are a few techniques that are hard to figure out (and the lack of a practice mode makes this harder to figure out), but generally it's a good ol' button masher that doesn't require hours of game time to learn. Anyone can pick it up and throw down.

2) It's authentic: The cutscenes for the story mode are actual footage from the 80s and 90s best WWF moments (calling it WWF because the game doesn't skimp in this regard). The actual gameplay uses the WWE modified logo, but seeing it called the World Wrestling Federation in real TV footage makes this game worthwhile (espicially if you missed it in the 80s and 90s).

3) It can be damn hard at times: I consider myself a pretty good button masher, but this game has put me to shame. Submission matches and anything else requiring you to mash the button as hard as possible (kicking out of pins) are damn ridiculous. I have yet to find an option to make this easier (and I don't think there is one). Let's leave it at this: if the computer pins you, you're not getting out of it. Except your defeat and move on.

More to come...
