A Phoenix Wright Musical?!
No objections here! (Sorry, had to do it...)
If you're in Phoenix Wright fandom like I am, you've already heard murmurings of this. Now we're getting full details on the all singing, all (maybe?) dancing, all female musical adaptation of the popular Phoenix Wright series.
(And yes, that's Phoenix Wright, not Gyakuten Saiban. For reasons still slightly eluding me, the production is using the American localisation as a basis. I'm sure as hell not complaining!)
(Above: application for genderswapped defence attorneys in livejournal fandom RPs has just gone up.)
GameCyte has the details from Capcom:
The Takarazuka Revue is an all-female troupe, whose many performances have included a number of traditional Western and Eastern musicals, including old standbys like Guys & Dolls, West Side Story, and Singin’ in the Rain, as well as adaptations of popular Japanese manga and American movies and novels.

Why is the Takarazuka Revue adapting Phoenix Wright? In the words of the press release: “An unprecedented form of collaboration, the show will combine the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game, which is very popular among women and casual game players, with the Takarazuka Revue, which has an extremely large number of female fans.” Musical courtroom drama, by ladies, for ladies.
Works for me, although based on that logic, getting some hunky male performers would probably net you points with your girl gamers just as easily.
Nevertheless, in the legacy of absurd Japanese musical adaptations, this is bound to be one of the most epic. That said, the first thing I thought of when I heard the news? Should be obvious.

Scene: Phoenix in court.
Phoenix: (Aside: Wait, what's that? What's that that that man said? I don't think he can say the thing that his lips just have read! There are some things that I object to and I must say when, it's my job - nay- duty as a lawyer to put a stop right then, aaaaaaand...)
Phoenix: STOP! (Aside: No, wait! There's a word that I'm thinking oooooof...)
Phoenix: WAIT! (Aside: No, stop! How could I forget this stuuuuuuuff?)
Phoenix: HOLD IT! (Aside: Wait, dammit! That's not what I want either, I want to run away right out of this theatreeeee!)
*The crowd stares, Phoenix stares around, smiles*
Phoenix: ObbbbbbJECTION! Objection! Sir I must object. The things he's saying are so wrong and I should interject, with...
Objection! Objection! He's breaking all the rules. I may not know the words for things but DAMNED if I'm a fool!
Objection! I object! I object! Someone take him away! For if not I'll go home a loser to-daaaaaay!
*Chorus*
Hmmm, I am curious...
I, too, am curious as to how this will pan out. Interesting. ((folds hands over one another like Gendo Akari))
This is not a show I would want to see, that is of course, unless Coop finishes it. That's a good opening!
Coop: That's... a hell of a lot better than the version I was putting together to the sound of Bohemian Rhapsody. I agree with Sean-- continue, please.
Gooootta sing-siiiiiing!
GAAAAATTA SING SINGGGG!!!
