Today on the Dairy: Pumpkin guy, penguins and Game Boy hugs!
Ghostbusters Pumpkin Fixes Ke$ha
I'm not sure where Luke found this dancing pumpkin man revamp and I'm not even all that concerned about him because of it. The point is he did. And despite my distaste for Ke$ha, he sent it over to me and boy am I glad. I freakin' love that pumpkin man! So once again, someone outside of the circles of acceptable social norms has fixed the popular entity known as Ke$ha. Thank you, dancing pumpkin man. Thank you for dancing.
And if you haven't seen it yet, here's the original pumpkin dance.
And if you want some more Ke$ha getting nerded on, check out the Star Wars video remake.
Tired of NYC? Maybe it's time to look at it in a different way.
Ahhhhh, how refreshing! Brett Camper created the 8-Bit NYC map using "a custom rendering engine, with help from several excellent open source software and data packages." Why? I believe the more appropriate question would be "why not?".
Learn more about Brett and his map while checking it out in its entirety here! And best of luck locating that magical chest in the Holland Tunnel.
Everything has a successful formula. Delicious baked goods, catchy pop songs, genetics and an award-winning film and its trailer. Unfortunately for all the hot shots competing for next year's Academy Awards, Cracked has figured out and exposed said formula. And I do say, they've done a fine job.
All right, aspiring film makers. Are you ready? On your marks, get set, GO-scar!
I really wanted to name this post "Penguins In Space" since one of those zero gravity flights is the closest my waddling friends will get to the great unknown, but considering the fact that they can somehow afford a Zero G ticket, and from out of Antarctica no less, I'm pretty sure they'll be getting to space way before me. Damn, penguins with their being cute and wealthy... Nah, it's okay, I still like you guys. And I appreciate your pity invite, but I think I'll just wait for my non-penguin turn with Zero G. No offense, I just don't want to deal with any stray beak tumble stabs to my eyes or abdomen in between all that space-like weightlessness.
Oh, and to whoever did the penguin singing voice, thank you.
I believe it was Timmy who confessed, on his birthday while hovering over his birthday cake, that he had never cut a cake before and that distributing dessert was going to be a challenge for him and a possible disaster for the rest of us. And while I may have been aghast at the moment that the birthday-er in question had never cut his own birthday cake (isn't that a thing?), I now fully understand his dilemma. I mean, if I would have known better, I would have dodged the duty for my entire life as well because cake slicing, an action which in theory is fairly simple, never seems to turn out the way we want it. Luckily these little flowers by WAGAii could give us a hand. So whether you're using the pedals or even as a stem as a guide, your slices can at least appear to have been sliced with great focus and consideration. Wonderful, because the last thing you need to be doing on your birthday is humiliating yourself. Right, Timmy?
P.S. I could really go for some tiramisu right about now.
So, we're all like, adults and stuff. But that doesn't mean we can't take a step back and give our childhoods a big hug. Isn't that what nostalgia is all about? Anyway, whether you prefer the form of a Care Bear or a Game Boy, the world is ready to deliver to you. I happen to still have my Care Bear (a Care Bear cousin to be exact... and I just admitted that), but I think there's enough room in my heart to welcome a Game Boy pillow or two. According to SoftMachines, you can have your Game Boy customized. I wonder if they'd make me a green one, just like my first Game Boy. Hopefully I'll still be able to play Cool Spot on it. I recall that the soundtrack totally rocked. At least to my 8-year-old self it did.
SoftMachine's Game Boy Pillow is available here for about $134.00. Woof! And if you're more of a musical snuggler, there are some fun options for you.

you're welcome.
No longer a cake-cut-virgin, by the way. I actually think I performed pretty well for my first time.
