Today on the Dairy: Big Bird, Giger and Game Boy!

Happy Early Birthday, Big Bird!

Do you need a special excuse to celebrate this special weekend? You're in luck because tomorrow is Big Bird's birthday! And while many women have been known to turn 35 for many years in a row, it's the Sesame Street yellow giant that is the real repetitive birthday master. This year Big Bird will be turning 6 for the 41st time. And no, you cannot buy him 41 shots. I repeat, he's only 6!

Neatorama has a fun write up about Big Bird that is both nostalgic and heart melty, especially since they included his performance at Jim Henson's funeral. And because I totally just teared up in front of everyone when he said "thank you, Kermit," then you have to as well. Cry, I say!!!

Happy birthday, Big Bird! I still love you just as much as when I first saw you.

The Truth About Eggs

They're chickens! Baby chickens! Ohhhh the humanity!

Back to reality, here's a fun way to decorate your hard boiled eggs this eggy season if you want to branch out from your typical vinegar and dye dip and dunk. Plus, you can totally eat them too.

H.R. Giger Appreciation Corner - WTF Pioneer?

I don't know about you, but whenever I see any imagery by H.R. Giger, the last thing I think about is investing some serious surround sound stereo equipment. Nothing against Pioneer. I'm sure their technology was ground breaking-ish and yeah, a demon mechanical acid spitting monster may have been an impressive sight, but I'd probably be a little more distracted by my wandering thoughts of needing an anti-acidic saliva-resistant latex suit and some kind of shogun witch doctor torture machine to defend myself from the scary (albeit awesome) nightmares I would soon be having. Awkwaaaard.

Alice In Wonderland Via Urban Decay

So I just had a major girl freak out over here. I happen to be a fan of painting my face (not on a daily or weekly basis mind you) and while I continue to have mixed feelings about Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, I think I found the middle ground where the film and I can finally meet. Because at least with this kick ass Limited Edition Alice In Wonderland Book Of Shadows eye makeup kit, I can diffuse my hatred for Crispin Glover's unnecessarily CGI'd body all while productively achieving that sexy emerald look I've been going for. Who am I kidding? I'm gonna look like a clown. I don't care! Moving on.

Here's the deal-y-cakes. Kits are selling out, buuuuuuut if you head on over to Urban Decay's site, you can enter a contest to win one (along with some fancy ass necklace that apparently is really expensive and yes, kind of cool except that you'll probably not wear it) from now until the 24th. Why am I telling you this? I mean, this does decrease my chances of winning. Because I have male readers as well, ladies. And if they want to keep reading, they will enter and send their winnings to me.

And their money. You know, just for kicks.

Seriously though, if you're good for it, the Alice In Wonderland Book of Shadows box is available from Ulta for $52.00.

UPDATE: I guess it's not available online. You're such a tease, Ulta.

Now THAT'S What I Call A Papercraft - Papercraft Game Boy

I'm very conflicted with myself and who I've become. This little handheld bundle of paper is so... nice to look at that it's messing with my head. You see, I know it's made out of paper. It says it's made out of paper. There is no secret that this is made out of paper, but all I want to do is touch it. And play it. And eat it? Yes, I want to eat it. I'm so confused, Paper Game Boy. What have you driven me to with your hypnotic paperness?

Aw! Now I just want to play Paper Tetris! Damn you, Paper Game Boy. Damn you to hell!!!

Seriously though, check out more pictures of the awesomeness which is paper here. Though I must warn you. It may induce some seriously violent paper cravings.
