Today on the Dairy: Tumbleweeds, the Northern Lights and toast!

Tumbleweed Invasion!!!

Today has been kind of lamesky up until now when Zane sent me this ridiculous video of a horde of tumbleweeds. Prior to my viewing, she suggested I turn the sound off. Well, I just so happen to have been listening to Iron Maiden's "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" on repeat for the past hour and well, it made for a pretty epic soundtrack. I suggest you do the same. It'll make you feel like you're fighting all of those tumbleweeds with an ax before climbing a mountain to slain a fire breathing dragon, which I intend on doing after work. Where's my Red Sonja outfit? It's time.

Time-Lapse Northern Lights

3001427

There's something about the Northern Lights that makes me feel so warm and at home, no matter how bitter and cold it is outside. Probably because they used to follow me home from those late night choir practices at school. We were friends like that. I was actually lucky enough to get a peek at them my last night in Iceland last November, and I can't help but feel like they showed up to say goodbye. Anyways, since they've played such a part in melting my cold, black heart in the dark winter months, I just wish everyone could have a chance to experience them. And though we may be bundled up in our own corners of the world today, you can get the idea from this gorgeous time-lapse video of the skies of northern Norway by photographer Bernd Proschold. Sadly, the rare appearance of my friends in southern Norway were captured and lost. Let's keep our fingers crossed that those images can be recovered!

Check out the video here! Hang in there. The real magic begins once the clouds clear out.

Off With Your Head Necklace

There's always a risk to wrapping something around your neck, even if it is a necklace. But something that clearly indicates a dotted line to cut across? Hey man, it's your neck. Do what you want. I, however, will be passing on this piece. I've just never been that into Anne Boleyn and I'm kind of over irony (oh, the irony!).

The Punktirus is an Art Lebedev concept. Beheading your girl is Henry VIII's... Just keep it safe and classy, lovebirds.

Never A Year Like '09

The video does make a good point. A lot did happen in 2009. And while it's been an eventful year, we must not forget that it's not the only '09. Take 1909 for example. Columbia recognized Panama's independence, the Silver Dart made its first powered flight, Taft succeeded Teddy Roosevelt, the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire Abdul Hamid II was overthrown by his brother, Luigi Ganna won the first Giro d'Italia, construction of the Cape Cod Canal began, Louis Bleriot was the first man to fly across the English Channel, Japan and China signed the Jiandao/Gando Treaty, Paul Ehrlich's laboratory created the Salvarsan treatment for syphilis and so much more! Granted, I wasn't alive to actually see any of these things happen, so for all I know, Taft was just some big guy who got stuck in a tub. Oh wait...

Well 2009, it's been real. I'll be sure to enjoy the last 2.5 days of you.

Today At Gamervision - Nick Murphy Laments

TEMP-Image_3_5

Nick sent me a screen capture of this morning's computer roadblock stating:

Thank you for the most non-descriptive problem ever, Final Cut.

Dang, Final Cut. What kind of finessing do you need today? Will a mani/pedi keep you rendering or are we going to have to promise you another lobster dinner? Sheesh, talk about a high maintenance princess.

Transparent Toaster

I don't know why, but while waiting in line for our turkey gobble lunch sandwiches, someone brought up their disinterest in digestion since they don't get to see the action. Wow, that came out weirder than I expected, but it's the best I can do. Which got me thinking, that the Le Toaster Vision toaster would be perfect for not just my strange coworkers, but everyone. You're basically guaranteed perfect toast, no matter what your toast standards. I'm not sure how one gets their hands on Magimix's Le Toaster Vision, but I hope we'll all find one in our kitchens when we wake up tomorrow morning. Especially mine.

And now for the sexiest toaster commercial.

    Tumbleweed video made my evening.

And in the continuing chronicles of "Wooing the Wild Loltim: A Cute Girl's Guide To Making Out With Me", wearing that cut-here necklace will certainly get my nerd sense tingling, if you know what I mean....

AND I THINK YOU DO, LADIES!!!!!
