Star Wars Vs. Dallas

And just in case you have no idea what kind of awesomeness is going on, here's the original opening from the show Dallas.

Tee Time

Now that's what I call a ship in a bottle! Unfortunately all I have in my bottle is my s.o.s. to the world. You see, I'm just a castaway. An island lost at sea, oh. It's another lonely day with no one here but me, oh. More loneliness than any woman could bear. So, you know, please rescue me before I fall into despair...oh.

The It's A Bottle Jim tee is available from GlennzTees for $19.95.

Guitar Hero Cufflinks

As much as I've enjoyed the geek related cufflinks, I've always been a bit confused as to who was actually wearing them. Obviously enough people seeing as these Guitar Hero guitars would have been relevant back when the original Guitar Hero was. Yeah, a lot has changed since then. But what do I know? The only cuffs I have are that of my hoodie.

The Guitar Video Game Cufflinks (no, I did not make that up myself) are available from Cufflinks.com for $50.00.

The Redundant Clock Is Infinite

01clock_copy1

I've never had any problems with reading time in analog and I give much credit to that big yellow clock we played with in kindergarten. However, I've known some adults, who shall not be named, who still struggle with analog. I'm guessing the Redundant Clock by Ji Lee would be their biggest nightmare. For me, however, it'll just be kind of redundant.

Zipper Tea Cups

While unzipping these cups could be quite dangerous, depending on how scalding hot the contents are, at least it can lend a space for your tea bag to hang out, undisturbed.

It looks like they're sold out for now, but you can keep an eye out for them here.

I Left My Wallet In El Segundo, Where Did Miss Universe Leave Her Brain?

Ok, I'm trying again and again to write about this and I just can't. So let's start from the beginning. Sean just sent me a link to the story about Dayana Mendoza's, aka Miss Universe's, reaction to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I was hesitant at first, as I have a hard time trusting anything from Fox News, but I was able to trace this back to Reuters and well... let's let them explain it.

A "relaxing, calm, beautiful place" may not be everyone's description of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where the United States holds about 240 prisoners in a detention center that has drawn condemnation from around the world.

But this was the opinion of reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela, who visited the U.S. naval facility in eastern Cuba this month on a trip organized by the United Service Organizations (USO) which supports U.S. troops.

...

"It was a loooot of fun!," Mendoza wrote, describing how she and Stewart met U.S. military personnel and took rides around the camp, which is encircled by a barbed-wire fenced, minefields and watchtowers. She said they also visited a bar on the base and the "unbelievable" beach there.

"We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the(y) recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting," she wrote.

"I didn't want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful," she added

I'm kind of speechless at the moment, but I'll probably start mumbling profanities at any given time. So, at the risk of being held responsible for any threats that I may or may not make, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut and leave this up for your interpretation.

Photoshop op? Anyone?

Update: Looks like the original post has been removed from her blog. Go figure.
