I am a 27 year old gamer who has been playing video games since I was 4 years old. My first console was an Atari 2600, but that didn't get me addicted to gaming until the NINTENDO! No, not the Nintendo 64!!!! Nintendo 64!!!!! OMG a Nintendo 64!!!!! I'm talking about the blow into my cartridge Nintendo Entertainment System. I then moved on to a SEGA Genesis, Playstation, Nintendo 64 (OMG!), SEGA Dreamcast (Where's my Dreamcast 2?!?!), Playstation 2, XBox, and finally Xbox360. Oh, did I forget to mention my passion is PC gaming? I love all my consoles, but I LOOOOOOOVE the PC! My favorite console of all time is the Dreamcast. It brought gaming to a whole new level, especially with it's online capabilities. Would we have XBox Live today without it? The games on it were incredibly diverse, and there were so many amazing & original games only available on Dreamcast. Skies of Arcadia is tied for 1st as my favorite Dreamcast game. Shenmue is the other game tied for 1st. Some other great titles are Powerstone 1 & 2, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Typing of the Dead, Ecco the Dolphin, Soul Caliber, Crazy Taxi 1 & 2, and Resident Evil Code Veronica. Great system! The SEGA Genesis comes in 2nd place, with the Nintendo 64 in 3rd. I think the most innovative console game of all time is Mario 64 on N64. Analog controls changed the game forever.... The game that got me started on PC was of course DOOM. I had it running on my kick ass 486 with 32MB RAM... haha. I then got hooked on DOOM (playing Deathmatch and Co-op over the 56K modem was the shit! Talk about primitive online multiplayer) I then got really into Heretic, DOOM2, and Hexen. My first video card was the Voodo2, which I had to prostitute for in order to play Quake. That's when the shit hit the fan. I offically became a PC Tech snob then. Let's skip past the countless amount of PCs and upgrades I've had from then until now, because I'd have to write a book then... I play my Xbox360 only when there's a game I have to play, but isn't also out on PC. If there's a game on XB360 and PC, I buy and play the PC version.... always. However though, I do use a XB360 controller on my PC. kickass! I currently own a PC with the following specs: -Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHZ overclocked to 3.8GHZ -4GB DDR2 RAM running at 667MHZ -Generic MSI Motherboard with all the bells and whistes, except only one PCIE-16x port for my GPU, and that is PCIE 1.0, not 2.0..... which kinda pisses me off.... -EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB DDR3 (which cost me $800 new in August 2007) -Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit *I love my GeForce 8800 Ultra so much! Yeah I know, it can't handle the wonders of DX11, but it has provided me with almost 3 years of playing the newest PC games at the highest graphics settings & resolution possible. Well, of course for a few titles.... looking at you Crysis... I probably won't get a new DX11 GPU for a while. There's not really any incentive yet as far as games go. My favorite PC Games of all time: -DOOM and DOOM2 -Heretic and Hexen -Quake and Quake 2 (not a fan of Quake 3 for some reason) -Grim Fandango -Diablo 1 and 2 -Fallout 1 and 2 -Warcraft 1 and 2 -Starcrat -Thief 3 -Half-life -Half-life 2 and all the other goodies with it (Episode 1, 2, and millions of mods) -Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 -Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 -Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 -Mass Effect 1 & 2 plus all DLC -Dragon Age Origins and all DLC -ANY Bioware or Obsidian game!!! (Yes, even Obsidian's Alpha Protocol... which rocks!) -Farcry 1 & 2 -DOOM 3 -Quake 4 -Prey -GTA III, GTA Vice City, & GTA San Andreas -Mafia (one of the best games EVER) -STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, STALKER Clearsky, & STALKER Call of Pripyat -Chronicles of Riddick - Escape from Butcher Bay (not the DRM infested Assault on Dark Athena) -Alone in the Dark (Yes, the newest one from 2008. Why all the hate for this? I loved it) -Dead Space -Resident Evil 4 (only after mods which make the shitty port actually pretty great) -Resident Evil 5 -Call of Juarez & Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood -GTA IV & GTA IV Episodes From Liberty City -Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 -Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 -Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 -Mass Effect 1 & 2 plus all DLC -Dragon Age Origins and all DLC -ANY Bioware or Obsidian game!!! (Yes, even Obsidian's Alpha Protocol... which rocks!) -Alpha Protocol (sooooo underrated!) There's still a bunch missing on that big ass list.... I forget things.... My favorite type of game are open-world/sandbox games. I love all the GTA games, including the original 1 & 2 on PC. Saint's Row 1 on SB360 was pretty fun, but for some reason I haven't gotten into Saints Row 2 yet... Mafia 1 for PC is my all time favorite game ever. To me, that's a perfect game. I am a graphics snob.... sue me... Yes, gameplay is the most important element of games, but as a professional graphic artist, today's graphics in games aren't just pretty colors and sights to me. I looks at them as would a 3D modeler and game designer. I understand what makes them work, and learn from other's work in games. Keeping up with the cutting edge graphics in PC gaming keeps me informed on the current technology of 3D Modeling and Game Design. I professionally do Web Design (which I'm good at but kinda hate it cause of all the coding involved). My dream job is working any position in a game company. That's my gaming life story. If you want to chat or just laugh at me, hit me up.
