I caved in.
I'm sorry! I was weak!
by QMarc80
I've been without a Nintendo DS for quite some time now. I was forced to sell both of the ones I've had in the past. One was mine and the other was my ex-fiance's. Bad time with bills.
Now I can afford another one. Last night I was searching for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber by ForceFX and walked into Gamestop just to say "Hi" to an old friend. We got to talking about the DSi. I kept eye-balling the Mario Edition DS Lite Bundle to my right. I stopped the conversation and asked to buy that and Chrono Trigger. Last night I played for a little bit but was too tired to continue. Today I'll pick up where I left off.
Any games that I should definitely know about that I haven't thought of yet? I'm buying throughout the month!

Professor Layton, Final Fantasy III, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Puzzle Quest, and the Castlevania games... just off the top of my head.
could have had Valkyria Chronicles and you bought this.. tsk tsk..
OR, you could have purchased a PS2 and then been able to play Persona 4!!!
Phantom Hourglass definitely. I've been sucked into the whole Animal Crossing craze so I would suggest that too.
The World Ends With You
"Caving in" in the game world means playing WoW, not buying a DS. Good buy!
Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright. Forgot to add
"There are deep lacerations along the sternum....WHERE ALIENS HAVE TAKEN OVER HIS BODY!"
"WHUUUUUUUUUUT?"
"THEY'RE SHOOTING XRAY BEAMS OUT OF THEIR RADIOACTIVE SUPERCORES! QUICK, USE YOUR ZAPPY GUN TO STOP THEM!!11!"
omg you got the red one! that's awesome!
i recommend drawn to life. it's not difficult but it's really entertaining.
Animal Crossing. Sickly addictive....and then you and I can finally meet! XD
Puzzle Quest, Contra 4, Phantom Hourglass, Brain Age 2, and Civilization Revolution.
Oh, definitely The World Ends With You, forgot about that one.
I always loved Puzzle Quest, that's a great buy. Final Fantasy Tactics was great, as well.
But dude, Chrono Trigger is amazing and you will be playing that for hours to come. Plus, after you beat it you get to play through it again in New Game+ mode and try and get one of the 8,000 endings.
If you enjoy a challenge, I can't recommend Contra 4 enough, especially if you have a buddy to play with. It is easily the most difficult (in a good, old-school way) game on the DS.
Ama-no-murakumo: My sister has cancer... ZOMBIE CANCER! YEAH! *high five*
Great purchase. Good thing you "caved in." Anyway, let me have a look at my collection...
Picross DS is a fantastic time-waster to play at work, if you can do that.
Both Advance Wars are musts for strategy fans.
The Sonic Rush games are overall good games.
Meteos is a launch window title that desperately needs a sequel... with Wi-Fi.
Tetris DS. Online. 'Nuff said.
Elite Beat Agents for good, crazy, rythm-based gameplay.
Disgaea, if you haven't played it already. My review's on here, if you want to look it up.
Clubhouse Games is great party/travel game, with online Wi-Fi for up to eight players.
New Super Mario Brothers harkens back to the good ol' days. Not particularly challenging, but there some good levels in there.
That's about what I would really recommend, but there are plenty of other games worth getting that have been mentionned already.
If you happen to have Gamefly, their used game section has a ton of good DS titles for cheap. That's where I buy most of my DS/PSP games.
Thanks everybody! I'll definitely be looking into a variety from what you've suggested!
Late to this party but definitely get The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass if you haven't. It's fantastic and a great game to show what the hardware can do. Made me love Zelda again!
New FF IV remake is also excellent.
And if you like strategy games, Age Of Empires is a lot of fun, as is the Fire Emblem game.
I'd recommend the 1st two Castlevania games but they're just too easy. Very polished games but lacking the challenge the classic games in the series had (problem since the GBA games) - but I hear the new one fixes that.
Happy Gaming!
