AMD Fusion Gaming Software Turns Your Desktop Into a Gaming Beast
Yeah, That's Not True...But It Will Get You Closer!
by Raccoonacorn
I know the gap between PC gamers and casual, console players is growing on a daily basis, but some new information about AMD's line of Fusion processors is making me wonder if that gap may close sometimes soon.
Today AMD announced their first software utility running under the Fusion brand, and it seems like something a lot of non-PC gamers could get excited about.

It's called the Fusion Gaming Tool. The tool is designed to, at the push of a single button, eliminate background processes, tweak CPU and GPU settings, provide hands-off overclocking, and even enable harddrive tweaks. To put it simply, it has the ability to turn a less-than-stellar computer into a decent gaming system.
What it won't do is transform your family computer into a monstrous gaming PC capable of running Crysis on very high. What it will do is allow those of us who don't own a gaming based PC to run games at higher frame rates, and possibly higher resolution with a few extra graphical bells and whistles.
It's a step in the right direction for PC gaming, finally giving the common user the ability to overclock and really push their computer to its limit.
Oh, one stipulation – you have to be running an AMD/ATI computer, which means if you are using a Pentium processor or an NVIDIA graphics card, well, you're out of luck.

This would be an easy purchase if it was Pentium/NVIDIA compatible. Oh well, maybe the Gaming Rig Fairy will leave me an Alienware under my pillow....
The gaming rig fairy hates overpriced hardware, so I doubt that, tim.
