Kotaku dropped this scan from the latest Nintendo Power that shows screens from the latest installment in the Megaman series. The game is slated for release as a WiiWare title and is sticking with the classic 8-bit feel from the NES era.

A list of potential bosses is also reported, with names such as: Magma Man, Galaxy Man, Jewel Man, Concrete Man, Hornet Man, Plug Man, Tornado Man, and Splash Woman (although this could be a misreading). If indeed true, this marks the first ever stage boss with a surname of Woman rather than Man. Finally, both sexes may be represented in a classic setting for us to whoop on as the blue bomber.

This is pretty exciting news, as it has been over 12 years since the original series has had an update.   Also, I don't know how the rest of you feel, but the original series has always held a special place in my heart, and I'm pumped to spend an entire evening trying to beat this in one sitting. I think I broke about eight controllers in fits of rage thanks to the rest of the Megaman games.  Now that my parents won't be buying me replacements I think I'll be slightly more careful.
