Radioshack to Sell Used Games
Suggested Pre-Order Bonus: Free Pack of Batteries?
by Raccoonacorn

What do you think of when RadioShack is mentioned? Personally, I'm getting coaxial cable spltters and remote-controlled cars. Video games...not so much.
Well, apparently RadioShack has been selling games for quite some time (you learn something new every day, yadda yadda yadda) and is thinking of throwing its hat into the used game circuit. The model being used seems similar to Amazon's, using a web-based service where you can "appraise" your game's value. From the looks of things, you tell them what condition your game is in and then recieve a gift card to Radioshack (joy!).
Well...we will see how that works out for them.
It's funny, for so long Gamestop was the used games giant, but once one company stepped up to take them on it has become a free-for-all. A retailer dogpile.
What do you think about this trend? Do any of these new used game retailers stand out?

yeah, i just can't see myself heading to radio shack to buy games. although, i guess if i went in for something else and saw a game at a good price i might pick it up.
Actually, your facts are incorrect, Raccoon. All the kiddies swear that Gamestop has always been the end-all be-all. What people forget is that Electronics Boutique was the #1 used games retailer...EVER...period. Heck, they were even the lone chain retailer who would purchase used PC games (& even had a 15-day return policy on new ones!). Of course, Gamestop bought them out but they discontinued their PC games policy. Go into ANY Gamestop today & I dare you to find more than 1 new PC title (usually WoW-something). If you´re a PC gamer today, your options are usually Best Buy or Fry´s. Hence, why I buy all my PC games from a local retailer who hasn´t forgotten the trailblazing PC gamers which allowed all of today´s kiddies to get their grubby little hands on console games.
If I´ve never trusted Gamestop due to them not catering to the PC gamers, why would I ever trust Radio Shack? RS evokes memories of the Amiga as back in the day, they were one of the lone retailers who sold PCs.
Haha, oh I remember EB. They weren't much better - in fact I think their prices were basically the same. Though, when I worked at Gamestop, I used to drive over to EB and pick up used Genesis and SNES games.
And I actually sold a few PC games back to EB - funny, I wonder if those serials ever fucked up for people.
A good place to go for your PC games - Newegg.com. I know, I know you aren't giving the little guy money, but NE has some legit deals.
i will not be buying games from radioshack. they always over price thier products.
