Caslevania becomes a fighting game, is it worth playing?

To get this out of the way, I enjoy Castlevania Judgment greatly. I've been a fighting game fanatic since Street Fighter 2, and a Castlevania fan since the first one hit the NES all those years ago. I bought Castlevania because if anything, I knew I would get sweet ass music and cool characters I grew up playing as. To my surprise the game was actually fun, and here's why...
The initial control set up I used was with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. I instantly realized it would be bad. The primary attack button is A, which is the equivalent of swinging the wiimote. Knowing this is the start of bread and butter combos in the game, I quickly swapped it out for the classic controller. MUCH better. It was here that I began to learn each of the characters different attacks and understood how to chain combos together. As a fighting game purist, Guilty Gear being my forte, I'm used to gattling combos and cancels. Castlevania Judgment is actually deep enough of a fighting game to use these techniques. Every character has a standard A button attack and attack string, a "rushing" attack leading to a string, the B button special moves when used in conjunction with A, a jumping attack swithed up with A and B, an unblockable hit when guarding and pushing A, a charge attack with both sub weapons and attack buttons, ect... In case you don't see what I'm getting at, the game is deep. MUCH deeper than flailing the wiimote around.
Here's a small example of the depth in Castlevania Judgment you can try yourself. Alucard, has an unblockable attack using his sword familiar from Symphony of the Night. This is normally a slow move, and you'd have to be playing a slow minded gamer to even hit 'em with it. In order to nail them with the attack everytime, use Alucards A + B + towards your opponent. This is a very speedy launch attack where Alucard sprouts wings and lunges. As soon as the hit connects, hold block and push A to use the unblockable attack. If timed correctly, your opponent with hit the floor right as the sword familiar strikes causing big damage. It's a very simple 2 hit combo, but it's fast, easy to do, and I guarantee you will beat all of your scrub friends who don't know how to play the game yet :P This is one example of the HUNDREDS of different move cancels, combos, and chains, the 14 character roster of Castlevania Judgment has. There of course are much longer and more difficult combos to be used, but again, it's all an example of the depth and mechanics a good fighting game should have.
How's the package of Castlevania Judgment as a whole? It has 14 fighters, half of which are unlocked for VS. mode through story mode. Theres the story mode, which has a different sub boss and final boss for each character, and small pieces of the Castlvania story for fans of the past games. Except for Maria, which has a humorous take on the important things in life :P Youtube Marias story mode to see what I mean. The story mode must be played through once with each character to unlock the true ending which has a surprise final boss. You defeat that true boss to get a secondary ending for each character as well. Theres also a castle mode very similar to Soul Caliburs mission mode with different objectives or handicaps during battles. Speaking of Soul Calibur, in Castlevania Judgment you also unlock pieces of clothing such as hats, arm bands, tails, and other goofy costume parts to customize your own character not unlike Soul Calibur 4. For you single player gamers, this is were the meat of your experience will come from with this game.
There's unlockable artwork, music, character voice samples, yes it's all here. There's even an online mode thats surprising lag free. Just be prepared to get your ass whooped by hardcore japanese players. For one last unlockable you can synch your Nintendo DS with the game Castlevania : Order of Ecclesia to unlock the character Shanoa into Judgements world. You can unlock her by playing story mode other wise, but if you link the DS with Wii you'll unlock other things in the DS game as well. Just a neat little nod to the fans who buy everything Castlevania! Something I can go on and on about is the freaking AWESOME music in this game. Every character has their own remixed theme from whatever game they were originally in. All I'll say is that it won't disappoint if you like the Castlevania tunes of old. "Bloody Tears" rules so, so much.
As a fighting game and Castlevania fan, 8/10, if you don't give a rats ass about Castlevania, 7/10. If you don't care for either, this game won't change your mind. I wanted to write something about this game ever since the media started hating on it. I just don't like to see good games go down so easily. If own a Wii, at least rent it, borrow it, and check it out somehow. It's not the god awful horror you thought it might have been. Who knows, maybe you'll enjoy it like I did.

from the video's i have seen about this game, it truly does look like crap. It looks like a 2nd year playstation 2 title and the fighting does not really look that fun. Who knows, maybe i will find a friend that owns a wii and try it.. but it really does not look that impressive
I've been intrigued about this game for a long time, but I don't know what to think since there are so many polarized reviews. I'll give it a rent sometime, since fighting games aren't really my thing anyway.
I personally didn't care for this game. I actually played a game with my back to the TV a won by flailing wildly.
