It's that time of year again where the industry starts picking favorites. I'm curious to know what you fellow gamers of Gamervision feel is the game of the year. So let's hear them!
My very personal pick, would go to Super Smash Bros Brawl. A game that took fanservice to a whole new level. I have never had as much fun playing ANY game as I have with Smash Bros. It's made me laugh the hardest, and play the longest. This sort of goes for the entire Smash Bros series, but Brawl is clearly the best entry so far.
However, the game I feel that should win GOTY is not Smash Bros Brawl. It is in fact LittleBigPlanet. It was easily the most innovative title to hit all year, and it brought new life into the otherwise dead platforming genre. Its developers Media Molecule deserve great praise as well. It's simply an outstanding achievement in gaming.

already stated this before but for me its Metal Gear Solid 4, but possibly pushed out of the way by the surprise from left field, Valkyria Chronicles
I think LBP too. It is so innovative and really utilized the online in a different way than most games. MGS4 gets an very honorable mention though. I liked Fallout a lot too, but did anyone else find the main story painfully short?
Fallout 3 hands down. It's exactly what I wanted it to be. Though Left 4 Dead is a very close second
I can't think of a definte game of the year, only games worth mentioning for a reason or another.
And I still don't get what's so great about LBP, but maybe that's just me.
Fallout 3 is my runner up after LittleBigPlanet. Incredible experience, but yeah the main quest line is a bit short for a game so huge. Great picks guys, I loved Metal Gear as well. If you played the entire Solid series that was a beautiful swan song. Keep 'em comin'!
Oh and props to you Voyou for mentioning Valkyrie Chronicles. Thats the best jrpg to come out in years. Another amazing '08 game. This was a fantastic year.
yea man i completely agree with you, it was just an amazing experience that i still need to beat, believe i only have 1 or 2 battles left.
I agree LBP is game of the year.
Between these two it would have to definitely go to Little Big Planet. 'Nuff said!
