"w00t" is Word of the Year
In a Related Story, Society Crumbles Before Our Very Eyes

I’m sorry, I’m still trying to keep my head from exploding over this one. In what is a sure sign of the coming apocalypse, dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster has decided that 2007’s Word of the Year would not even be an actual word, just some obscene combination of letters and numbers that makes no sense to me.
This expression would be “w00t”, popularly used all around the internets by gamers, pre-teens, and murderers of good grammar. Apparently, it’s a form of (oh God, my head) “l33t speak”, “l33t” being short for elite. A little research has informed me that “w00t” means “yay”.
w00t FTW!
WTF is right! It means “yay”? Here’s an idea: WHY NOT SAY “YAY”? It’s a shorter and easier word to type, and if you say “w00t” out loud, you’re basically retarded. JK! But 4 real, I’m not really down with all this interweb lingo. LOL ROFLMAO.
Excuse me while I go kill myself.

I wouldn't mind so much, but surely w00t should have been word of the year 1997 not 2007? Zomgz?!
Yeah Tengu, I think w00t beat out "rock music" for this year. I think the people at Merriam Webster must get their news across teletype...
w00000000000000000000000t!
Me wants wootcakes (yes, me and my friend trademark it now. We found wootcakes, although there actually called something else i cant remember.)
In a related story, Time names Cats as the person of the year.
I hope those internet cats are Person of the Year. They're so cute and clever I don't care how ridiculous their language is.
