A Boy and His Blob Developer Wants a Sequel

So Do I!

by Sarah

As previously mentioned, A Boy and His Blob was one of my favorite games of 2009. The Wii reimagining of the classic (but frustratingly, impossibly difficult) NES game was just about everything I wanted it to be, with increasingly challenging puzzles and an insanely charming presentation. Even though it earned a permanent place in my game collection, I hadn’t given any thought to a potential sequel. I figured that the reimagining was as far as the series would go. However, according to Official Nintendo Magazine, developer WayForward would like to make one, which is some of the best news I’ve heard today.

Sean Velasco of WayForward told ONM “Another A Boy And His Blob game would also be amazing as the first one was such a great experience.” It would be amazing for Wii owners too; I’m more than willing to revisit Earth and Blobolonia armed only with a pocketful of jellybeans. Perhaps WayForward should take a look at the less popular Game Boy sequel, A Boy and His Blob in the Rescue of Princess Blobette. I’ve never played it, so I have no idea how it is in comparison to the original, but I trust the developers to put their own unique spin on it. If you haven’t played A Boy and His Blob yet, I definitely recommend that you do so. Maybe a boost in sales will convince WayForward that a sequel is the way to go.

I still need to play the first (sitting in my pile of shame), and this makes it easier to rush and do that.
