Activision Announces Guitar Hero: World Tour Launch Week DLC
Metallica, Blind Melon, and More
by Sarah

With the launch of Guitar Hero: World Tour only a few weeks away, Activision has announced that there will be a whole lot of downloadable content to go around when the game finally comes out. In a move that’s no doubt an attempt to keep up with Harmonix’s consistently awesome weekly DLC, Guitar Hero: World Tour will also be getting some launch DLC. In addition to an R.E.M. track pack that includes three songs from the band’s newest album, Guitar Hero fans will also get classic songs like Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl”, Boston’s “Rock and Roll Band”, and “Hot Blooded” by Foreigner. If that’s not enough, there will also be some free compositions to download from Ted Nugent and Zack Wylde, “No Rain” by Blind Melon, and the previously-promised Metallica album Death Magnetic.
I must say, Activision, it is really nice to see you giving gamers some DLC options for when Guitar Hero: World Tour comes out. That being said, it doesn’t really compare to the 20 free songs that Rock Band 2 is offering gamers—and even without the free songs, Harmonix has a much better track record when it comes to downloadable content, so I would probably stick with them no matter what. However, that’s just my opinion, and I’m sure that Guitar Hero fans will have a lot of fun rocking out with these tracks.
