Activision to Triple the Number of Guitar Hero Games Released by 2010
Milk That Cow Dry!

In some circles, Activision is known for milking its key franchises and releasing endless numbers of sequels, some of which are better than others. Because of this, some series have seen a decline in quality over the years, and one of these, in my opinion, is the Guitar Hero franchise. Activision doesn’t see it this way, however, as they have three different Guitar Hero titles either already out or coming out this year: On Tour, Aerosmith, and World Tour. Think that’s a lot? Ha! Activision doesn’t think it’s nearly enough.
Yes, Activision wants to release even more Guitar Hero games in 2009—double the amount, to be exact. If we’re assuming one of these will be Guitar Hero: Metallica and one the next straight-up sequel to the series, that means we’re looking at about four other Guitar Hero games as well. As if that’s not ambitious enough, Activision wants to go even further and triple the number of games in the series in 2010. If they successfully pull that off, that means we’ll see nine Guitar Hero games released that year. NINE. IN ONE YEAR.
Seriously, with all of these titles being released within such a short amount of time, it really seems impossible that Activision will be able to focus on quality over quantity. I know I’ve made lots of jokes about them and their franchise-ruining this year, not all of them serious, but this just seems ridiculous. Anyone else think this is a terrible idea?

terrible idea.. too many titles in such a small time. Instead of new titles they should just focus on DLC
