Afrika Finally Coming to North America
Previously Asia-Only PS3 Exclusive to Be Published by Natsume
by Sarah

In 2006, before I was even working for Gamervision, I remember that one of the games to be announced at E3 was Afrika for the not-yet-launched PS3. Since it was one of the earliest PS3 games people heard about, there was a level of excitement about it despite the fact that it seemed like not much more than a spiritual successor to Pokemon Snap. It was then announced that the game was going to be an Asian territory exclusive, and Afrika launched in Japan last year to decent reviews. I don’t know about the rest of you, but the game completely fell off my radar. However, now it’s back on, because Afrika is coming to North America.
To refresh your memory, Afrika puts you in the shoes of a photojournalist taking pictures of animals in the wild. It’s been rumored in the past that eventually North American and European gamers would get to play this, but now it’s really super official. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw it this holiday season, actually. I expect that we’ll hear more about this at Sony’s E3 press conference next Tuesday, so be sure to follow along as Coop and I take in all of the big (and not-so-big) announcements.
