Animal Crossing Wii Almost Certainly to Appear at E3
Official Nintendo Magazine Drops Some Heavy Hints
by Sarah
Since the Wii’s launch in 2006, Nintendo fans have been wondering when a new Animal Crossing game was going to make its way to the console. We’ve known that a Wii version of Animal Crossing for the Wii has been in development for awhile now, and this isn’t the first time there has been word that it may appear at E3, which is quickly approaching. So the fact that this has now been all but confirmed probably won’t come as a surprise to most people.
Still, it’s exciting for Animal Crossing fans like myself, so here it is. According to Kotaku, UK publication Official Nintendo Magazine ran an E3 promotion with the following image:
If you can’t read that tiny caption, it says “It’s been a while! It’s time to revisit an old friend. How’s your village doing these days?” (Answer: I’m guessing Bedford Falls, my village on the Gamecube Animal Crossing, is overrun with weeds since it’s been neglected so long.) It’s been years since I’ve played Animal Crossing, but I would definitely be on board for a new one. Hopefully we’ll not only get an announcement, but a North American release date that falls in the 2008 time frame. Too much to ask?
We’ll have all the info from Nintendo and everyone else live from E3, so stay tuned to Gamervision for all of your E3 news.

Man, I don't even want think about going back to Animal Crossing on my DS. Last time I did, I spent the whole time pulling weeds T_T. Hopefully the Wii version will allow us to visit other towns through WiiConnect24. I'd put pitfalls everywhere. Muahahahaha! I'll be sure to add you Sarah!
Good opportunity to clean up my town. I'm hoping we can import items from the DS version.
Maybe they'll add community towns that online friends can all share? That would be bad-ass. I doubt they'd do that, though. Still excited for AC Wii!
It was!
