Atlus Announces North American Release of Super Robot Taisen Game

Endless Frontier Coming to DS

by Sarah

Yesterday, Atlus sent out another one of their winning press releases announcing release dates (and awesomeness ratings) of their upcoming games for the year. However, it seems like they missed one, because I just got yet another press release from the RPG publisher. This time, they were announcing that they will be publishing Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier in North America. The game will be coming to the U.S. in late April.

You know, I get a lot of press releases in a day, and most of them are pretty dry. I’ve got to hand it to Atlus for continuing to amuse. I’m also impressed that, like many of their games, Atlus will be releasing Super Robot Thingie: Entirely Too Long a Title for Me to Remember in a premium boxed set, complete with soundtrack, at no extra cost. For more information, read the press release below.

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- FEBRUARY 4, 2009 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced that it has secured the North American publishing rights for Super Robot Taisen® OG Saga: Endless Frontier™ on Nintendo DS™, a sci-fi/fantasy-action RPG side story of the Super Robot Taisen Original Generation games. Embark on a journey across the fascinating worlds of the Endless Frontier along with robots, were-people, mermaids, demons, and humans all living with each other in harmony... more or less. From the fantastic new battle system to the captivating story of alternate worlds and characters bursting at the seams with personality, there is plenty to discover and uncover (*ahem*) in this well-rounded adventure.

Unlike most RPG battle systems, players will be engrossed in the interactive, action-packed, fighter-style combat in Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier. Customizable turn and time-based attacks allow players to administer the ultimate beat down on enemies by juggling them in the air and executing a continuous chain of kicks, punches, slashes, gun attacks, bombs, and more. In addition, players can call on their allies to extend their attack chains to ridiculous lengths.

As a continuation of the Atlus Spoils fan appreciation program, each and every launch copy of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier will be a premium boxed release, with a soundtrack CD featuring music from the game included in the final retail package. It's our way of saying thanks to our fans for their continued support!

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is scheduled for release on April 28th, 2009 with an MSRP of $34.99.

I'm not sure yet, but I'm hoping this is a good, if not, fun game.

Nice, but still not as good as the OG games on PS2 ;)
