Brütal Legend to Appear at Spike's Video Game Awards
Also, Jack Black to Host
by Sarah

While one abandoned Activision game has found a new publisher and release date recently, Tim Schafer’s rock adventure Brütal Legend is still without a home. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything about this game, other than Tim Schafer himself assuring the world that Brütal Legend was fine, and I’ve been a bit worried. As a huge fan of Schafer’s games (I believe I may have mentioned that once or twice before), I’ve been following this one since it was first announced and was looking forward to its original release date… which should have been right about now. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
However, we will be seeing more of this game in less than two weeks, so that’s some good news. The bad news? According to Joystiq, if you want to catch the “world premiere of Brütal Legend gameplay”, you’re going to have to tune in to Spike’s Video Game Awards. If the Brütal Legend gameplay is not enough, the show is being hosted by Jack Black, the voice of the main character in the game. Anyone who watched (or attempted to watch) the VGAs last year knows that the show was not exactly a shining moment in video game history, but this year’s event is already shaping up to be more interesting. I mean, I probably won’t watch it live, but I might DVR it and fast forward to all the good parts.

Damn that is bad news. I guess I'll just wait for it to pop up on the ol' internetz.
Jack Black: the love of my life.
I'm going to start a charity fund for Tim Schafer. That man is too talented to be in development hell.
Ugh. Do I NEED to watch this? I do now, it might not blow...
