I have been known to order things from online retailer Amazon from time to time, and as such, they often send me emails informing me of current deals. Usually I just delete them, either because they don’t interest me, or I’m afraid I’ll be too tempted to spend money, but I got one today that I thought might interest the gaming community at large. From now until June 27 (which, I discovered after some research, is Saturday), if you buy a Wii, you will receive Wii Music for free.

Dear Amazon.com Customer,

As someone who has browsed or shopped the Wii console or video games at Amazon.com, you might like to know that Wii Music comes free with a Wii console now through June 27, 2009.

Buy a Wii, Get Wii Music Free
Wii is Nintendo's premier video gaming console. Combined with Wii Music, you'll be gaming with the whole family in no time and enjoying the plethora of new games and gear frequently released for Wii.

Simply add both items to your cart and the savings will be deducted at checkout. *Offer good in limited quantities while supplies last. Amazon.com reserves the right to discontinue or extend this promotion at any time. Taxes may apply. Offer ends June 27, 2009. Additional restrictions apply.

Coop and I noted that Nintendo execs didn’t even bother bringing up Wii Music at their E3 press conference this year, despite the fact that it was their big reveal from the year before. We also know that the “game” got mixed reviews, and wasn’t very well received by most gamers. Is Amazon trying to clear out some overstock? Or are they hoping to lure in parents of young kids and casual gamers with this deal?
