Is it too much of a jump to assume that everyone here is as big a Final Fantasy freak as I am? Too bad! So since I’m imagining that you all love Square Enix’s most popular series, and you all agree that Final Fantasy VII is the best of the bunch, I have excellent news. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core is finally hitting our shores next spring.

Crisis Core follows the story of Zack, Cloud’s SOLDIER counter-part, and will feature appearances by several members of the series, including Aerith, Cloud, and the most frightening villain of all time, Sephiroth. The game has been available in Japan for some time, and has been one of the hottest titles in production since the PSP launched over two years ago. It’s taken a long time, but finally, this prequel to one of the most beloved games in history is almost here.

I’ve been waiting for more of the Final Fantasy VII story for a decade now (Dirge of Cerberus just didn’t do it for me), and while I don’t know if it can match the original, early word is that it’s going to be one of the best games Sony’s handheld system has to offer. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that there are no further delays so that I can finally get my hands on it in March.
