Don't Expect Rock Band 3 in 2009
Meet the Beatles Instead
by Sarah

The first real bit of gaming news coming out of CES 2009 appears to be from Harmonix, the makers of the Rock Band series and the forthcoming music game based on the work of the Beatles. With Rock Band and Rock Band 2 coming out less than a year apart, most gamers would probably expect Rock Band 3 to follow suit later in 2009, but Harmonix said today that this is not the case. It appears that Rock Band 3 will not be out this year, but that mysterious Beatles game will.
When Harmonix previously named holiday season 2009 as its projected release window for the Beatles game, I was a little skeptical, but now it all makes sense. Even though I love the Rock Band series, I think that this is a good move on the parts of Harmonix and EA. First of all, Rock Band 2 fixed the few issues the first Rock Band had and was so solid that I really don’t feel a need for another one so soon. The Beatles game, on the other hand, is something I am very interested in, since they’re one of my favorite bands ever. Next to no details about that game have been released since its announcement (other than the fact that it’s not Rock Band: The Beatles), so I guess we’ll have to wait if we want to find out more. I’m just hoping that happens sooner rather than later.

I'd much rather have this then Rock Band 3, although I'd love to have some Beatles DLC on Rock Band. It's going to drive me mad trying to figure out what it's going to consist of other then something similar to Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, which would be disappointing in my opinion.
I hope that Aerosmith is not being compared to The Beatles here . Because, "A Day in the Life" can't compare to "Ragdoll" which is piece of art!
I enjoyed playing both Rock Band 1 & 2 and it would make sense not to have another one so soon. As for The Beatles, I love their music and I think that a move like this from Harmonix could be interesting. I guess we will have to sit back and find out more info as the mystery tour unfolds.
Um yay?
I'd still buy Guitar Hero: Metallica over this ANY day.
I never realized how many people aren't Beatles fans. That makes me sad.
Come on we're talking Rag Doll! And who could forget the poignant and heartwrenching "Love in an Elevator"!
GH:A sucked because it lacked the consistency of good songs. Where the f*ck was "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing", "Crying", "Dude Looks Like A Lady", and others that NEEDED to be on there. Sorry, but "Train Kept A Rollin" and 5 of the guitarist other project bands' song weren't needed.
