EA Sports Active Officially Coming to "Other Consoles"
Work Out for Achievements and Trophies!
by Sarah

Once again, internet rumors have proven to be true. On a financial conference call yesterday, COO John Schappert told investors that the publisher would be "taking EA Sports Active, which was wildly successful in the Wii, and bringing that to multiple platforms". While Schappert didn't actually state what those "multiple platforms" would be, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine EA Sports Active on the 360 and PS3, especially this fall when both systems will be getting new peripherals that would better serve the workout program. Also, considering this resume listed PS3 and 360 versions, and seemed legitimate, this doesn't come as a huge surprise.
Like I said before, I'm totally on board with this idea. People are quick to dismiss exer-games, but these same people usually haven't tried them, or used them more than a handful of times. Since Wii Fit and EA Sports Active helped me get into the best shape of my adult life, I'm more optimistic about Sports Active coming to the 360 and PS3. I can also definitely imagine gamers not motivated enough to use a Wii exercise regime getting fit for Achievements or Trophies. The only other information given about the franchise is that two titles are planned for the third quarter of fiscal year 2011, though it's not clear if that means the versions coming to other systems, or more expansions for the Wii. I imagine it won't be long before we get more details, though.
