Oh, Peter Molyneux, you just love to hear yourself talk. The outspoken Fable creator has been saying for weeks that Fable II is finished, but the game has only just now gone gold—meaning that it’s been released to the publisher. Or, in the words of Molyneux himself, as told to Videogamer.com:

“It is as of 7pm last night. We are now officially gold. It's released to manufacturing. Fable is absolutely finished and done and dusted.”

While this isn’t much of a shock, it’s still nice to hear that things are rolling along smoothly for one of 2008’s most anticipated games. While a lot of people like to bitch and moan about Peter Molyneux and his numerous unfulfilled promises, I actually loved the first Fable, and I’m hoping that I really love the sequel as well. There were plenty of times that I thought this game would get postponed to 2009, but it looks like the team at Lionhead Studios has pulled it off. Now we just have a few more weeks before the game's October 22 street date to wait to see if it really lives up to all of the Molyneux-induced hype.
