Fable II Sells 1.5 Million Copies
Millions of Chicken Chasers Rejoice
by Sarah

After a brief absence, I finally found some more time to spend with Fable II yesterday and managed to get a second husband, have a threesome, and buy a couple more houses, all while crushing the Temple of Shadows and winning the Crucible tournament. As it turns out, I’m clearly not alone in loving this game, as Lionhead has announced that Fable II has sold 1.5 million copies. While not on the epic scale of Fallout 3 or Gears 2, that’s not a bad number at all, considering the game has barely been out a month and the holiday shopping season hasn’t even officially started.
This announcement comes just days after the “big announcement” about the upcoming DLC for the game, which will include a new area and cost about ten bucks. Being a giant cheapskate, I usually scoff at the idea of paying money for anything, but I may consider it once I’ve finally finished the main quest in Fable II. I know there was a lot of negativity directed at this game because of the press surrounding it around launch, but I’m glad to see it’s doing well. Of course, it’s easy to imagine that the game would have sold even more copies if Peter Molyneux had kept his mouth shut for the last year, but hey, there’s always Fable III.
