Final Fantasy XIII Promised For 2008
Hope You've Been Saving Up For That PS3!

When it comes to reasons to own a PlayStation, any PlayStation, the number one reason for me has always boiled down to two words: Final. Fantasy. For over a decade the series has made its home on Sony’s consoles, and it looks like this is the year it makes its debut on the PS3. Tetsuya Nomura, the character designer for the series, has sworn that Final Fantasy XIII will make its tentative 2008 date.
I want to believe him, I really do. At the same time, I don’t know how I’m supposed to. It’s already just about February, and we barely know more about this game now than we did six months ago. I remember when FFXII was supposed to have a 2005 release date, and that game barely made it out in ’06.
Mind you, I’m not complaining. With a game like this, I’d rather wait as long as it takes. It’s freaking Final Fantasy—so it needs to not be released until it’s as close to perfection as it can get. You know I’d love to have my hands on a new Final Fantasy this year, but I’d rather wait and see than get my hopes up only to have my heart broken once again. Maybe if that supposed playable demo hits the PSN soon, I’ll be able to find this a little more believable.

I'd still bet they miss it!
The CGI for this game is insane. This game would probably be reason enough for me to get a PS3 . . . some day.

This IS the reason why I'm getting a PS3. Let's hope those rumours are true.
gosh, even though i don't own a PS3 and i'm not a hardcore FF fan, i still can't wait.
Aw crap, I guess this means I do need a PS3.
I want to be optimistic because I LOVE Final Fantasy but I know it won't be hear till mid 2009. Stop playing with our emotions with these wacky release schedules. Then "VS.", who knows when we'll get that or what it'll be like.
