Final Fantasy XIII Will Use Almost 100% of PS3's Power
360 Version Will Make Your System Explode
by Sarah

Ever since the first Final Fantasy made its way to 8-bit cartridges, the series has been pushing the boundaries of what a console could do. This became even more true after the franchise swapped cartridges for discs in the PS1 era, with FFVII being considered a technical marvel back in 1997; similarly, when FFX came out for the PS2, the graphics and voice-acting blew minds. Yes, this is all stuff we take for granted now, but the series has a history of making good use of hardware. Obviously, Final Fantasy XIII will not be an exception.
In fact, it looks as though FFXIII may use up almost 100% of the PS3’s power, according to producer Yoshinori Kitase. Speaking with Japanese publication Dengeki PlayStation 3, he stated, “Doesn't the demo use about 50 percent of its power? Of course, I think the retail version will make use of nearly 100 percent.”
That’s mighty impressive, but what does that mean for the 360 version? I’m assuming that one will have multiple discs to swap out, which isn’t that big a deal, but I hope the game can run just as smoothly on Microsoft’s console as it does on the PS3. However, none of this really matters at the moment, because we still have a lot of time to wait before the game even reaches North American shores. Hey, Squenix, while you’re bragging to Japanese magazines, how about you try to nail down a release date for the damn game?

in my opinion i think they are just trying to hype their game more. I doubt they use 100 percent of the PS3's power. I really hope they are getting a ton out of the PS3 system but i just don't see it as 100 percent but i would love to be proven wrong.
As for the 360 version, i really think it will play just as smooth. Most all of the multiplatform games play smooth on both systems.
You're just jealous of the PS3, FemJesse. Jealous! Although; you do make a valid point about the power distribution. I'm more interested in Final Fantasy XIII: Versus, anyway.
I am also interested in Versus more than FF 13. i dont think that it will use a full 100 percent of the power.
I agree with Voyou. While I'm sure this game with set the standard for graphics, I doubt it will be pushing the PS3 hardware 100%, and I definitely feel that Squenix would never release a game that doesn't run well. The 360 version might require swapping out discs, and may have lowered texture quality or whatnot, but it will run wonderfully, and still look pretty damn good.
I just want to play the damn game!!
Sounds to me like it's overhyping, nothing that company has released after the merger has been good. (There, I said it.)
I hope we get a demo here in the states around the time it launches in Japan.
