Game Informer is 12th-Best Selling Magazine in U.S.
Thanks, GameStop Employees!
by Sarah

It’s no secret that print publications, like newspapers and magazines, are slowly dying out amidst a crappy economy and the rise of the internet. However, people are still buying magazines, and in the U.S., a video game magazine is one of the most popular. Yes, Game Informer, which you probably bought a subscription to at GameStop, is the 12th-best selling magazine in the country, outranking Time, TV Guide, Cosmo, and a whole bunch of other notable publications. The full list is below.
Honestly, this does not surprise me at all, and the only reason Game Informer is doing so well is because it is sold at GameStop and attached to the discount card. Think about it: you’ve got thousands of GameStop employees pushing these things every day, hoping to sell at least two or three subscriptions a shift. No wonder it’s doing so well! Take away the GameStop angle, though, and would anyone even care about Game Informer? I don’t think so.
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t have anything against GI, and I’ve got a year’s worth of back issues in my bathroom at home. I also recently let my subscription run out, and haven’t bothered to renew it because I haven’t needed to use my GameStop discount card yet this year. With GameStop opening even more stores this year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this number go up. Look out, Ladies Home Journal!

Holy large-print-crossword, Batman!!! There are a LOT of retired people in America.
How much could the AARP have to say every month, I mean really?!?!
The thing to bear in mind about the AARP magazines is that they are sent, for free, to everyone in the US over the age of 50. So it's kind of a misleading number.
Amazing
Who are the 150,000 people who get the Bulletin but not The Magazine? Are they just not quite retired enough?
While it is true I spend my weekends pandering GI subs at work, I honestly do like it as a magazine, and would actually subscribe to the magazine even if it was not attached to the Edge card. And no, my devil employment corporation has not endorsed this comment post
