Guitar Hero III Guitars Defective
You Didn't Really Need That Yellow Button, Did You?
by Sarah
A few days ago, I posted a Guitar Hero III review, raving about the awesomeness of the game itself and the shiny new wireless guitar. A commenter noted that his PS3 guitar didn’t work quite as well, informing us that his red button sometimes becomes unresponsive. Naturally, we dismissed this as a PS3-related flaw, because we love to make fun of the PS3.
However, it’s now becoming apparent that this problem is not only limited to the PlayStation 3, but is occurring with alarming frequency on all systems. Many gamers have reported that their fret buttons are sticking, with the red and yellow ones being the most common ones not to work properly.

“Hey! Why isn’t this chord working?!”
As if that wasn’t bad enough, others have claimed to have different problems with their Les Pauls; the strum and whammy bars have been reported either over or under-sensitive. Sources at several different video game retailers informed me that they’ve had an abundance of GHIII bundles returned as defective starting as early as Sunday morning (which was when the game actually launched).
I personally have not had any problems with my guitar, but apparently I’m one of the lucky ones. As for the rest of you, if you do pick up the bundle, make sure you test it out immediately…. and hang onto your receipt.

Here's one bash for you - - I bought the 360 one this past friday (the 2nd) and my guitar had the same problem where if the neck and body weren't connected perfectly then the green button, not the red or yellow, would stop working. Pretty frustrating when you're playing through the game on any level. Luckily, I kept my receipt! The new guitar is awesome otherwise, except that the Rock Band guitar is way way way way better (minus the strum bar.) Oh, and the vgXpo was excellent. Adios.
