UPDATE: The PlayStation blog is reporting that Heavy Rain will actually be out February 23 in North America, contradictory to Qore and our previous report. I guess that's what we get for being so smug. As for PAL regions, mainland Europe can get Heavy Rain February 24, and it will be out in the UK and Ireland February 26. Looks like we'll all be waiting just a little bit longer.

A little over a month ago, we reported that GameStop had listed upcoming PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain as having a February 16 release date, which sounded like more than just a placeholder for the gaming retailer. Of course, everyone doubted us, saying "Who cares what GameStop says? They're wrong and they suck!" Whatever your opinions about GameStop may be, it appears that the evil corporation was right once again. As revealed in the latest issue of Sony's Qore, Heavy Rain has gotten a U.S. release date of February 16 in North America.

I'll save the "we called it, nyah nyah nyaaaaaah" for another day, instead letting everyone know, once again, that I can't wait for the full version of this game. I've already played through a few chapters and have been intrigued every single time. I'm still not quite sure how the full experience will be, nor do I know what genre Heavy Rain fits into, but there's only a little over a month until these questions are answered.
