Jeff Gerstmann's Former Superior Fired
CNET VP of Games Let Go
by Sarah
It seems like this whole Gerstmanngate thing has finally come full circle. Josh Larson, the VP of games for Gamespot parent company CNET, has been let go, and his position in the company eliminated. Larson was Jeff Gerstmann’s superior at the time of his firing, and some sources blamed him for the decision. There’s no proof as to whether or not Larson was actually the key figure in Gerstmann’s firing, but since people have been happily jumping to conclusions about Gerstmanngate since Day One, I’m sure it won’t be hard for some to make the stretch.

According to Kotaku, the decision to eliminate the VP of games position is part of a “new management structure” in which CNET is cutting ten percent of its staff. Over a hundred CNET employees are also losing their jobs because of the restructuring. Larson’s last day with the company will be April 9.
So my question is this: is it over now? Is it finally time to stop bitching about poor Jeff Gerstmann, even though getting fired was probably the best thing to ever happen to him? It’s been almost half a year, and hopefully with Gerstmann’s former superior getting the axe, this thing can finally die. It’s about time.
