Are you amongst the numerous Wii owners complaining about the lack of decent WiiWare titles lately? Well, you’re in luck, because it looks like WiiWare is getting a potential winner next week—Contra Rebirth. Published by Konami, the game looks to be an all-new Contra adventure, which should equal AWESOMENESS. Oh, there’s a catch though: it’s only coming to Japan on May 11. Those of us in North America will have to wait an indeterminate amount of time, assuming we get it at all. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Other than that, all we know is that the game will feature co-op of some sort (I certainly hope so, it’s freakin’ Contra!) This has to come to North America and PAL regions at some point, though, right? I mean, who doesn’t love Contra? I know plenty of Nintendo fans who will gladly shell out some Wii points for this. Come on, guys, don’t drop the ball on this one.
