Those of us who grew up playing video games in the days when graphical capabilities were measured by a number followed by the word “bit” have been intrigued by 3D Dot Game Heroes. The game strives to give old-school gamers a sense of nostalgia, but more than the memory trip, it looks to be a fun action adventure game in the spirit of the original Legend of Zelda (it also reminds me of the first Final Fantasy). After recently making everyone happy by announcing that they would be publishing the game in North America, Atlus has released a launch trailer for the game. Six months before launch. Hey, sometimes you just can’t wait.

The PS3 exclusive will be released on May 11, 2010, for the extremely fair price of $39.99. I have to admit, I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to 3D Dot Game Heroes at first, but now it has definitely caught my eye. What can I say? I’m a sucker for some good retro action.
